You just received filler… now what?
POST INJECTION INSTRUCTIONS
We want your results to be amazing! Follow these simple instructions for the best results.
After all injectable fillers, including Belotero®, Juvederm®, Radiesse®, Restylane®, Voluma® and Sculptra®, please adhere to the following instructions:
∙ Avoid any strenuous exercise, extensive sun or heat exposure and alcoholic beverages for the first 24 hours as additional swelling and redness can occur.
∙ It is normal to experience some degree of swelling post treatment; ice may be applied providing that you wrap the ice around a clean cloth first. Never apply ice directly to the skin as this may cause damage to the skin. Apply 15 minutes out of each hour. You may ice on and off for the first 24 hours if needed. Swelling will continue to resolve over the next few days.
∙ Bruising and minor redness may occur immediately or within 24 hours after an injection. If you bruise it may last 5 to 7 days. Applying ice as noted above will help. It is okay to put make up over your bruise. You may use Arnica® tablets or gel available over-the-counter to reduce bruising.
∙ You may take acetaminophen (Tylenol) if you experience minor discomfort or swelling. Avoid medications that may thin your blood such as aspirin, ibuprofen, gingko biloba, and vitamin A and E for 2 days after receiving filler.
∙ Do not massage your face. You may wash your face with your normal facial products but avoid dermal rollers and do not put your face in a massage cradle for 2 weeks after receiving filler.
∙ If you notice any signs or symptoms of infection, including: increased redness, pain, drainage or discomfort, please notify us as soon as possible.
∙ For patients with a history of cold sores, please alert Dr. Tran at once if symptoms start occurring. Cold sore breakouts on any treated area need to be evaluated to prevent further spread of the virus.
∙ If you suspect that you may be experiencing an allergic reaction which includes hives, itchiness, rash, please notify us immediately.
∙ For any questions or concerns, please call and ask to speak to our nurse at 202.785.3175.
